The inclement Patagonian climate and distance from the world did not allow us to have fresh products regularly. Thus, the families began to plant their farms (orchards) with vegetables and some fruit trees that they brought from the north of the country and Europe. They grew carrots, lettuce, apple trees, cherry trees, rhubarb, currants, raspberries and strawberries, among many others.
The farm was a special place where even the youngest members of the family helped, transforming it into a space to share work, children’s games, and thus, several generations began to forge their love for the land.
